Howdy folks!  Danny here. With the 2000 edition of the Draconia Calendar Series being such a success, I figured that, in addition to the new introductions for 2001, I would also throw in a couple of the previous year's favorites. Hence, the return of Blue, who last appeared in the November/December page from the 2000 calendar.  With the ongoing theme of "the Elements," we figured Blue would be a logical choice to represent water, in all its forms. At the time, this piece was quite a challenge, as the idea was to show Blue being so in tune with the water that she can sit on top of it without creating any waves.  So still is the water, in fact, that her reflection is clearly visible beneath her.  From a technical standpoint, it was one of the more ambitious pieces in the Draconia canon to date. If I remember correctly, this was the piece that firmly cemented one particular fan's love for Blue--an adoration that he still holds even today, despite her lack of appearances in the Draconia Chronicles webcomic.  Blue has appeared, however, but just in cameos, particularly on pages 29 and 91.  She generally appears not too far from her daughter Mizu. So, to Charles S. of Tennessee, this Blue's for you!  Enjoy!
