Elektra
by Para Tollison

This has to be, without a shadow of a doubt, the single most amazing piece of fan art we've ever seen.  Draconia Chronicles fan and fun friend Para Tollison assembled this likeness of our own Elektra using cut-up mirrors.

That's right...  Mirrors!

Showcased at Anime Weekend Atlanta in 2003, the full-sized piece measures 3 feet by 3 feet, comprised of mirrors mounted on plywood wrapped in black velvet.  Weighs a ton, too.

At the time, Para was big into working with mirrors, and this was one of three pieces she showcased at that year's AWA; one of the others was a similar mirror piece of Himura Kenshin from Rurouni Kenshin.  The other two were entered into the art show, but the Elektra piece was designated for display only, and it spent a good deal of time at our table in the Artists Alley.

AWA's Artists' Alley has a good number of skylights, and watching the afternoon sun gleam off of this puppy was nothing short of magical.  Inspiring, some would say...
